Today my grandson is 4 months old. As a 47 year old woman, I never thought I would be reliving late night feedings, diapers, and being constantly "on". Yet, here I am, and truth be told I love it. This baby has indeed brought joy and new life to our family, as well as adjusting to new routines. Oh! You are awake at 3 am? Wonderful. Let's eat. My body has been programed to wake between 4 and 5, so on those days that he wakes at 3, my day begins. How do I find energy to still get in at least 45 minutes of a great workout, and eat right? The answer is I just do. I find that if I skip that workout because I am too tired, (and wouldn't be?!) I never find a rhythm or energy in my day. When I choose to power through the workout my day goes so much better. I'm not going to lie, I'm still tired, but not as tired and mind numb as I would have been without it. I honestly believe the healthy eating and workouts make life more enjoyable, and doable. One of my favorite parts is when folks think I am his mother, and the look on their face when I say Grandma!
